Summary :
This role is responsible for assisting and supporting the Senior Director, Accounting and Compliance, in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting and compliance department.
Assists in account analysis, bank reconciliations, intercompany, and tax handling functions.
Assists with preparation and coordination of year-end audit process.
Assist with special projects assigned by management.
Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards.
This role will offer a hybrid work model (1-2 onsite days at our Port Washington, NY corporate office per week).
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
Planning, organizing, and coordinating the year-end audit process with external auditors.
Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating the physical inventory process for North America
Ensuring successful completion of the company’s various monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings
Assist in preparing financial statements
Perform daily bank reconciliations
Perform intercompany reconciliations
Perform monthly inventory reconciliations
Perform sales cutoff analysis
Analyze certain accounts monthly and quarterly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of their work product.
The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company
Assist with ad hoc projects.

Proficient in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Intermediate skills with Excel- VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.

Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks
Ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements
Manage projects to deliver on time and on budget
Knowledge of Financial Reporting and US GAAP
Manufacturing and Distribution accounting experience preferred
SAP knowledge a strong plus
Reporting Relationships and Supervision:
Reports to Senior Director, Accounting and Compliance
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
2+ years of experience within retail, distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.
Public accounting experience preferred; certified Public Accountant is not required but a plus.
