*Overview of position:*
Reporting to the Director, the Educational Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program and ensure compliance with all regulations mandated by all state and local licensing agencies.
You will be responsible for implementing curriculum planning, teacher quality, and staff performance development.
Administration/Office duties will take a roll in this position.
Additional responsibilities include:
· Ensuring adherence to all requirements of NY regulations
· Ensuring staff and parent adherence to all center policies and procedures outline in the Parent and Employee Handbooks
· Creating a positive rapport with all staff members through daily interactions, supervising, observing, evaluating, and mentoring staff.
· Conducting and documenting daily classroom observation logs to aid in compiling monthly classroom meeting agendas.
· Assisting Director with recruiting, interviewing, hiring applicants, and assisting in training new staff members
· Completing initial and annual staff evaluation forms/meetings
· Approving and creating individual class monthly calendars
· Approving individual class weekly lesson plans
· Ensuring the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum in all classrooms
· Arranging and advertising continuing education opportunities for staff
· Creating a positive rapport with all parents during daily interactions
· Arranging and supervising parent/teacher meetings and providing parents with guidance and resources when necessary.
· Maintain staff and child records.
· Manage workflow to meet deadlines.
· Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
· Ensure safety of the team
· Communicate openly and efficiently with director, staff, and parents.
· Answering phones
· Helping with lunch breaks and bathroom breaks
*Necessary Skills:*
· Associate degree in Early Childhood Education
· Clear understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
· Experience working with children and families.
· Leadership skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
