*Summary:* South East Consortium is a non for profit respite agency for individuals with developmental disabilities.
As a camp counselor with South East, you are tasked with providing a safe, fun and meaningful camp experience for children with intellectual disabilities.
*Duties & Responsibilities:* The following is a list of the Program Aide’s responsibilities.
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
* Attend all required training/staff meetings prior to program beginning.
* Be thoroughly familiar with all participants’ disabilities, medications & behaviors.
* Complete all assignments given by Camp Division Head.
* Assist consumers in completing all activities.
* Assist participants in restroom (see ‘Bathroom Policy’ in Part-Time Employee Handbook) * Assist in ensuring the program is conducted in an organized, safe and professional manner.
* Aid Program Instructor in leaving facility in an organized clean manner.
* Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
*Qualifications:* To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed are representative knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Needs to successfully clear a criminal background check and fingerprint screening.
*Education and/or Experience:* 1.
High School student (age 16) or graduate preferred.
2.
Prefer experience working with individuals with disabilities.
3.
Some basic knowledge, skill or interest in assigned program area.
*Communication Skills:* Ability to effectively communicate information with consumers, Instructors, and Program Supervisors.
*Certifications:* Instructors must be currently certified in at least one of the following: 1.
American Red Cross Community First Aid (including adult, infant and child CPR and AED and First Aid) 2.
Heart Saver First Aid (including CPR and AED) or 3.
CPR for the Healthcare Provider (including adult, child, infant CPR and AED) 4.
American Red Cross certification (WSI or Life Saving) for aquatic activities.
*Reasoning Ability:* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
*Physical Demands:* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
The employee may also have to assist in transferring a person with a disability to and from a wheelchair.
Specific vision requirements for this job include close and distance vision.
The employee must attest to be in good physical condition.
