Insurance Defense Associate
Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice.
We are currently seeking an Insurance Defense Associate to join their team in New York, with options to work a hybrid schedule.
We are looking for qualified candidates with 2+ years experience in Insurance Defense.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate insurance claims and legal matters to determine the merits of a defense strategy.
* Assess the strengths and weaknesses of cases to develop effective legal strategies.
* Conduct in-depth legal research to stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents.
* Provide legal representation for insurance companies or other clients in defense against claims.
* Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
* Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate handling of legal matters.
* Organize and maintain case files, documents, and relevant information.
* Communicate effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
* Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients regarding potential risks and outcomes.
* Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
* Prepare legal opinions and memoranda supporting defense strategies.
* Negotiate settlements with opposing parties to resolve claims efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Represent clients in court during hearings, trials, and appeals.
* Present legal arguments, examine witnesses, and cross-examine opposing witnesses.
* Collaborate with experts to strengthen the defense strategy.
* Interpret insurance policies and coverage terms to provide guidance to clients.
* Advise clients on coverage issues and potential liabilities.
Qualifications:
* Member in good standing with the New York Bar
Comp is up to $170k + bonuses.
