Social Worker – Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic- Part -Time As a Social Worker in the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide evidenced-based individual, family and group psychotherapy and discharge planning to child and adolescent patients.
This is a part-time position, including two evenings until 7pm per week to provide services to patients and families that need evening appointments.
Preferred Criteria At least three years of previous psychiatric Social Work experience, preferably 2 years with children and adolescents Outpatient behavioral health experience with a variety of diagnoses Training in CBT and/or DBT Experience in Group Work Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Required Criteria Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) by the State of New York Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association Fieldwork or previous experience in a psychiatric setting Demonstrated integrity and adherence to social work ethics and professional standards Capacity to form a therapeutic relationship with a variety of patients and to maintain a neutral therapeutic stance Knowledge base of bio-psychosocial model, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV (DSM-IV) diagnoses, criteria for treatment of different diagnoses in an acute care setting, behavioral risk factors and of the impact of mental illness upon individual and family functioning Ability to conduct initial evaluations and psychosocial assessments and to establish individualized and measurable treatment goals and discharge planning resources and processes Effective organizational skills to manage clinical, discharge planning and documentation requirements within assigned LOS of inpatient hospitalization Ability to communicate effectively and to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team Demonstrated self-awareness to identify learning needs and capacity to apply supervisory feedback into practice Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
