Animal Shelter Veterinary Technician to work 3-5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Humane Society of Westchester is a private 501(c)3 non-profit organization, providing animal control to 19 cities, towns and villages in Westchester County.
We adopt out approximately 1000+ dogs and cats annually.
Applicants must have a passion for helping shelter animals with a strong work ethic and exceptional organization and teamwork skills.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play an essential role in providing excellent medical care, supporting our veterinarians, and ensuring the well-being of our animals.
Medical Support and Patient Care:
* Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures by preparing equipment, supplies, and patients.
* Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
* Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgeries and dental procedures.
Medical Equipment and Facility Management:
* Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
* Assist with the cleaning and disinfection of exam rooms, treatment areas, and kennels.
* Ensure a clean and organized environment to support efficient patient care.
*Requirements*
* Associate's degree or higher in Veterinary Technology.
* State Veterinary Technician license current, and in good standing.
* At least 2 years of recent experience as a Veterinary Technician.
* Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, anesthesia, and patient recovery.
* Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals as needed.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
